MDF and Different Types of Boards

Posted by MDF Board  |  at  03:11

Nowadays wood becomes the essential need of everyone, but traditional wood is so expensive and very hard to maintain so it’s time to move to MDF i.e. Medium Density Fiberboard. Wood based boards are used almost everywhere, there are three main types:-

Particle Boards: For producing particles of numbers of sizes raw materials are processed and then it is bind with the resin binder; chipboard or flexboard are the examples of this type of board.

Laminated Board: -Foe each layer there is a need of different type of wood and then it is glued together giving the wood which increased its rigidity; plywood and blockboard are example of this type of board.

Fiber Boards: Variety of fiberboard is discriminated by the proportion and type of wood fibers used the mode of drying, which kind of bonding substitute is used and which method is used to be shaped when it is pressed.

Medium Density Fiberboard is produced by a dry process at a high temperature and high pressure with the mixture of natural glues and resins contained within the wood are rendered ineffective. Formaldehyde resins are used to bonding to their constituents parts in all fiberboards. MDF therefore uses manufactured bonding agents and resins.

Feature of MDF

  • It is dense and flat
  • Can be easily manufactured, machined and cut
  • It is resourceful
  • It is Eco-friendly for nature
  • It is available in genuine price.

MDF has many advantages than the plank wood, particleboard, or other type of wood product. Its manufacture is uniform and fine and because of this it is very smooth. This create it have low tear out, which measure that when sliced, the end has a flat or smooth cut rather than a craggy edge.
