The Truths and Myths about MDF

MDF is a wood compound particle, bonded with a synthetic resin, which is mainly formaldehyde-based and it keep in heat and pressure for making it robust in nature and acts like a natural wood. It is used industrially in furniture and cabinet making. Medium Density Fiberboard is a category of composite wood product.

It is 100% safe once it is used to build up a finished piece of furniture, but when we have to work to cutting piece of the MDF and while we cut this some dust particles is released which are harmful so prevent from this we should Wear a mask.

The major point recognized with MDF is that its manufacturing associates a resin consisting of formaldehyde which is a known toxin and carcinogen in high concentrations. When we cut MDF for building purpose the sawdust and formaldehyde are released. Sawdust and formaldehyde are bad to smell mainly the formaldehyde; so, when the MDF gets cutting then it is advice to cut in the ventilated area or safe working environment. When MDF is machining, it is the peak time when any kind of health risk will takes place.
